Why play at WSOP?

WSOP is probably the most recognised and established brand in poker today. So it's not surprising that their online poker room is popular. Part of the 888 poker network of sites, WSOP Poker benefits from their great poker client, providing an excellent player experience. The WSOP website is attractive and well designed. There's loads of routes to taking part in the famous WSOP itself, and right now is a great time to join as there's a £500 first time depositor's bonus up for grabs.

WSOP software

The WSOP software is a 'skin' of the 888 Poker software. If you've ever played on that you'll know how good it is, and here is no exception. It's well designed, has an intuitive lobby and it's easy to find the game you want and join the tables quickly.
If it's a classy poker site you're after then you just found it in WSOP - it has a really nice looking black and red theme.

Perhaps the best feature of the WSOP software is the wealth of customisation options - from the poker lobby hit settings>table layout. From here you can choose from a range of preset table themes, as well as choosing the card deck and face you'd like to play with. You're also able to select a user avatar from an extensive range.

Be sure to go to 'game settings' and tick the 'keep my hand history in' box so you can review your sessions at a later date.

Gameplay on the WSOP software is great - it's smooth, it's stable and when you've got more than one table open you can opt to tile or cascade them on your screen.

Another feature we like is, as well as being able to take notes on your opponents, you have the option to assign them an icon, or 'tag' - some are preset (e.g. a shark icon) or you can choose from a range of colours and give the tags a name of your choice. This is handy as it helps you make good quality decisions the next time you come up against the player.

WSOP games

WSOP offers Holdem, Omaha and Stud and a great range of stakes. For example. their NLHE cash games range from $0.01/$0.02 to $500/$1000 so there really is a game here for everyone.

If you're new to online poker, WSOP has a special section of the poker lobby, in its 'Beginners' tab, where you have one-click access to selected cash games and tournaments, making your decisions a lot easier and speeding up how long it takes to be seated at a game.

If there's a particular game you play a lot, you can add this to the 'My favourites' tab of the lobby - think of this as you would bookmarks in your favourite web browser - again it makes it easier to get seated and start playing quickly.

WSOP welcome bonus

WSOP offer a generous poker bonus, matching 100% of your deposit, up to a maximum  of £500. If you're after a 'quick win' way to improve your online poker bankroll than this is a must.

How do you earn the bonus? The bonus is payable in one lump sum. It can be cashed out once 10x the bonus amount has been wagered. 10 Bonus Points = $1 of bonus earned. To give you an idea, $1 of rake/fee equals two bonus points. So in other words, it's driven by how much poker you choose to play (and the stakes you play at - the higher the better).

WSOP player reward/loyalty scheme

Play poker, get rewards. Sounds simple? That's because it is. From the very first time you play for real money on WSOP, you earn yourself Status and Reward Points. You can 'climb' the statuses from the starting 'Blue' level right up to 'VIP Diamond'.

The higher the status you have, the more rewards you get, from cashback (2%-36%), to daily, weekly and monthly freerolls.

Reward Points are great - the more you earn, the more you can do with them. But essentially you have two choices - you can either exchange them for cash bonuses, or use them for tournament entries and freerolls.

You can see at a glance what level of Status you have in the WSOP Poker lobby (below the cashier button). Click on this and you'll then get all the detail you want about your Reward Points and your progress within the scheme for the month.

WSOP player traffic

The 888 network (which WSOP is part of) is a huge network comprising thousands of online poker players at any one time. Currently this means the network is the fifth most popular in the world. What this means to you as a poker player is that WSOP is nice and busy. We've found that a lot of fish are drawn to this site, probably because of the WSOP brand, which attracts a lot of newcomers to online poker. So, there's plenty of action whatever stakes you want to play at, and plenty of money to be taken from newer players.
