Why play at True Poker?
True Poker is a US friendly poker room that is part of the big Winning Poker Network. It offers a massive range of poker formats including some of the more obscure and hard to find games. On top of this there's a $1000 welcome bonus up for grabs. Their customer service is absolutely fantastic with email/phone/live chat access around the clock and a very professional team behind it.
True Poker software
The True Poker software is a real tour-de-force. It's been really well designed and makes finding the game of your choice nice and easy. It plays and looks good, and supports multi-tabling up to 20 games at once. My only criticism with it is there isn't much scope for customisation.

True Poker games
True Poker have pretty much any version of poker you'd ever want to play available. Now some of them are what you've probably come to expect (Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo), but they also offer 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, 3 Card Poker, 32 Draw and Telesina.
An impressive array of stakes are available. For instance, if you choose to play NLHE, you can play anything from $0.05/$0.10 all the way up to $15/$30. MTTs and SNGs are similarly well catered for with buyins from just $0.90.
And if you'd just like to try out True Poker before making your first real money play, each new player gets credited 1000 in 'play money' chips.
True Poker welcome bonus
True Poker offer various bonuses and promotions. However the biggest one right now is the 100% 'Super Bonus' which offers to match 100% of your first deposit to a maximum of $1000. This is a superb offer, especially for USA players.
How do you earn the bonus? The minimum deposit for this offer is $50. How fast it pays out is down to you, how frequently you'll be playing, and the stakes at which you'll play. It comes down to the earning of Frequent Player Points (FPPS). Each time you earn 500 of them you'll get paid $1 of the bonus. For each $0.01 of rake generated you earn one FPP.
You have 40 days from making your deposit to rake through the FPPs to claim the bonus.
Other True Poker bonuses and promotions
The other incentive for new True Poker players is the New Depositors Freeroll, which has a $250 prizepool and takes place on Saturdays. It offers new players another easy way to add to their bankroll.
True Poker also offer an attractive Bad Beat Promotion. We all hate to lose with an awesome hand, right? Well the good news is that if you lose at a cash game at True Poker holding quad eights or better, you'll hit a part of the Bad Beat Jackpot. (You can see how much this currently stands at by looking at the top part of the True Poker lobby). How it works is, 30% of the pot goes to whoever lost the hand, 20% to the winner, 10% to the other players at the table, and 30% to 'reseed' the next jackpot. To give you some idea of the scale of this jackpot, as I'm writing this, it stands at over $150.000! Just imagine losing with quads and having $45,000 to make you feel better!
True Poker reward and incentive scheme
True Poker FPPS are awarded for real money play on the site. These are earned at the following rates:
SNG/MTTs: For every $1 of tourney fee paid, 1.25 FPPs are awarded
Cash game play: For each $1 contributed to the rake, 1.25 FPPs are awarded
You can then use these points for entry into tournaments and SNGs which are identified in the buyin tab in the lobby.
True Poker traffic
The beauty of being part of a network of poker sites is that the players online are pooled across that network. The Winning Network is very popular and to give you an idea, as I'm writing this it's a Tuesday evening and at 2030 GMT there is an impressive 4300 players online - plenty to fill up the cash games and have SNGs kicking off nice and quickly.
